Jill's room

Shaleen & I spent a lot of time at Home Goods while we were in Vegas. I had never been to one before and now I love that store. I got some things for Jill''s room. A new quilt set for her bed, an adorable clock, some frames & some other pictures I have yet to put up. I really like it. It seems to brighten up her room.

Uncle Nate's Hats

Carter & Jillian found some of Uncle Nate's hats and enjoyed wearing them while watching TV. Carter looks very uncomfortable to me but he stood with his head back like that watching for about 10 minutes.

More Vegas fun!

My niece Paige was on her way from BYU Idaho home to California for the summer and she spent a few days with us in Vegas. Jillian couldn't be made to look away from the TV long enough for a picture. I think it was a captivating episode of Dora.

Unfortunately for her, this is how the cat spent most of her time while we were visiting. Jillian & carter loved her and would not leave her alone. She couldn't have been to miserable because she kept coming back for more!

The weather was beautiful so we took a nice Sunday evening walk. There are some really nice trails right by Shaleen's house.

Fun with our Cousins

The kids & I went to Las Vegas for 9 days to stay with my sister Shaleen & her family. We had a great time hanging out, shopping and watching the kids ruin the backyard. Jillian & Abi are only 2 weeks apart. They love to get together and do very well for the first few days. Usually by the end of each visit they are fighting and ready for their own space again. They had a great time playing dress up. They also were very creative this trip and put anything they could think of in the toilets to make potions, including entire bottles of shampoo, packages of potpourri & fake flowers. Then there were the lotion & baby powder all over the bathroom and the toy animals incident, followed by the baby powder all over the closet on clothes, inside shoes and blush all over the carpet. I thought I was going to strangle Jillian. We talked repeatedly about not getting into things, had some spankings and many timeouts but nothing seemed to work. Finally I called my Mother-in-law in desperation for some advice. She suggested making the girls stay right with us where we could see them. We explained that since they were not making good choices they would have to be our shadows. This actually worked pretty well but was a huge pain for the Mom!! If I was in the kitchen doing dishes Jillian was in the kitchen too. She could play or do whatever but she could not leave my sight. This really limited their activities and seemed to help them decide to make good choices for most of the rest of the trip. Just today Jillian informed me that her doll was fighting with her friend and so was doomed to spend the rest of the day right with Jillian. She remembered!!!

My neice Emily, Baby Nathan, Shaleen, my nephew Spencer, Abi & Jill. Having fun at the park. Emily & Spencer spent most of the time pushing kids on the swings. Thanks guys. They are always such great help. Emmy does any and all child care that is needed. Spencer actually cleaned out & completely scrubbed Shaleen's fridge for about 2 hours one day. What a guy!
