Shark Reef

The kids earned free passes to the Shark Reef through the libraries summer reading program. The Saturday before school started we made it over there. We saw some neat things. Jillian & Carter are doing their piranha impressions in front of the piranha tank (bottom left). Carter liked the sting rays & the sharks the best. There were some cool saw fish in the big tank & the sea turtles were neat. The kids got to touch sting rays & horse shoe crabs.

Horn!

Carter used his hulk boxing gloves (Uncle Gavin & Aunt Cheryl!!!) to punch Bennett yesterday, knocking him into the wall. I heard crying & went to check. Carter was standing across the room looking guilty. I went to Bennett, asked Carter why he didn't come get me, like he usually does when Bennett gets hurt, and asked him what happened, then I looked at Bennett. He had the biggest goose egg I have ever seen right in the middle of his forhead. He looks like he is growing a horn!!! Carter, with his giant hulk gloves on, admited to punching Bennett who fell & hit his head. Carter spent a lot of time in his room that afternoon & I spent a lot of time worrying about Bennett who has been just fine!! The bottom left pictures are from this morning. The swelling is down but the bruise is darker. I think the bottom right really shows how swollen it was.

Busy day

Grandma & Grandpa invited Jillian to come stay with them for a week so we drove her down a spent a few days at home. Grandma & Grandpa planned a fun day at the Natural History Museum for everyone & then Grandma was chosen for Jury Duty & couldn't come. We missed her but had a fun day.

Bennett enjoying the museum. The architecture was really neat!

Guilana

Jill & Tahani had a great time. They are always happy to get together.

The kids played with all touch screens.

Saber tooth tiger skeleton.

Butterfly exhibit.

Jillian was dying for one to land on her & one finally did. Thanks for the cute toes Aunt Gaby!

She had a little help getting this one.

The gem exhibit was really neat. We all loved going into the vault to see the diamonds, rubies, sapphires & other stones.

After the museum we walked over to the Imax to watch "Born to be wild" in 3D.

Then we found a children's area in the science center and the kids had a great time playing in there.

6 hours later we were all ready to go home & take a nap (the adults at least).

Summer still

When it was still summertime, we ate otter pops, & dressed up. Carter loves to wear his detective hat & a fluffy pink scarf & kitty bag are perfect accessories, oh and a gun.
