Saturday Playing

Taking it easy on Saturday afternoon. Carter and Jill both love to play with their tub of animals. We get them at Target and they are very sturdy so they last forever. They are one of our favorite stocking stuffers.
Jillian pretty much has a princess dress on all day, usually complete with shoes and tiara. She is packing her purse for the ball. Remind you of anyone?

Configuring Mr. Potato head, who will hopefully turn out less beat up than his creator. We seem to have had a series of unfortunate events with Carter's face. I guess that's the way it goes when you are spastic and reckless.

Wearing Daddy's shoes. At least they are not his ladies shoes (Jill looked in Christian's closet the other day and exclaimed "Daddy you have lady shoes in your closet." Apperently my thing are creeping onto his side of the closet.)

Nothing like a little hook and sword fighting for an excuse to beat up on your sibbling. Actually they are both pretty careful but they love to battle it out as Captian Hook and Peter Pan. Carter is holding the sword.

Dress up fun

Sleeping Beauty! Isn't she lovely?
The girls were dressing up and Carter didn't want to be left out so after they chose their dresses (the more masculine colors) he brought me the left over pink dress and asked me to help him with it. I thought it was funny and look how happy he is! I was also glad he only wanted to wear it for a minute and doesn't show much interest in it any more.

Jill's first day of preschool

We went to visit Jillian's preschool on Saturday so she would be familiar with it when we came Monday morning. Her teacher happened to be in the room setting up and we got to meet her and show Jill around a little. She loved playing on the playground.
So did Carter!! Here he is with his military regulation hair cut. His hair grows really fast and he likes to put food in it when he's eating. Buzzing makes hair cuts less frequent and food easier to remove. We can't decide if he looks more like he's recovering from Kimo, recently escaped from Auschwitz concentration camp or a boot camp recruit, but I still think he's cute.

Monday morning all ready for school!! She got a new backpack and was very excited to take it. She was feeling a little nervous about school but we talked about it a lot, prayed about it and Christian gave her a blessing before he left for work and she had a wonderful time. It really seemed to help her calm down. It was really neat.

Carter got to spend lots of time at Grandma Parke's house while I dropped Jill off at school and went to the parents meeting the last 30min of the day. Her teachers are great. One has been there since 1985 and she is so nice. Jillian went right in, found her cubby and was off playing without a worry. Her teachers told me she was great and fit right in. She made a new friend and painted, made a glittery star and got to take her paws (tiger) for show and tell. Parents are required to volunteer 3 times during the session so I am going with her on Wednesday. She just passed through the room and told me she was glad she went to school! She is definitely ready and excited. I think this will be a great experience for her:)!

We dropped Carter off at Grandma Parke's and had a special cookie before heading off to school!

YUMMY!

Playing at the Park

We went to the park with Grandma Parke to have lunch and play on the toys. Grandma & I ate lunch and the kids played. We got a little food in them as they sat in the swings. They both love to climb and Carter is as good as Jillian on anything that he can reach.
Sliding down to Grandma!

My turn Gwah (this is what Carter calls Grandma).

Goodbye Baby.

Jillian with her present from the family gift exchange at the Underwood's. Baby Riley knew just what to get her. She loves playing with her Princesses.

So grateful that she gets to start opening presents, Jillian hugs the box. It was her Christmas Eve PJ's which explains where her shirt is.

Carter in his Christmas Eve PJ's. He was less enthusiastic about opening presents. I believe I opened almost all of his presents this year.

Christmas Eve PJ fun. Watching a Christmas show, hanging out on the arm of the couch and trying to hug while your brother is escaping.

Opening presents at our house before heading over to the Parke's for the Christmas morning present opening marathon! Jillian only made it through half of her presents before she left to watch one of her new movies. She polished off the last five later in the afternoon. It makes your realize they get way more then they need.

Parke Family Christmas

Jillian, Christian, Jamie & Carter celebrating Christmas at my parents house. We had a lot of fun playing our traditional family bingo, eating and opening gifts from our gift exchange.

Giving it a go

Well, after seeing all of your cute blogs I decided I wanted to be a part of the fun. I am just getting it set up so it will probably be pretty boring for a while until I get things figured out. I am excited!!
