Firemen at the preschool!

For F week at Jill's school they had a visit from the fire department. Carter and I got to come back early to see it and take pictures. The kids enjoyed learning about the firemen, seeing the truck, wearing their hats & spraying the fire hose. Carter enjoyed catching the water in his hat. Too bad it was super hot that day. The funny thing is that was only on Wednesday and now here it is Friday, Halloween, and it is raining! Crazy weather!

Carter's Class

Jillian loves going to preschool! I thought that it might be nice to sign Carter up for some kind of class also. So on Tuesday mornings we all go to Family Fun Time!!!!! And it really is! We meet at a school and spend the first 10 minutes in one classroom singing songs and dancing, then we walk to another classroom that is set up with all kids of equipment. It is like Chuckie cheese meets gymnastics. The kids have free range. There is no structure in this room and they get to climb on anything and everything. It is so fun to watch them explore and become more confident.
Today was spatial awareness day so there were a lot of tunnels for them to crawl through. There are about 15 - 20 kids so there is a lot going on. The parents play with the kids and just follow them to make sure they are safe. We only help when they need it. It is a really good place to learn how to interact socially too. For example, Jillian was very caught off guard today when a little boy smacked her in the face as she was hanging upside down on the bars. Apperently he thought her turn should be over:). His mother was so embarrassed and made him track jillian down to apologize (she got out of there fast). It is important for the kids to learn how to handle situations like that too. I am just always so relieved it is not mine doing the hitting that it never bothers me much, as long as the other parent is nice about it.

Carter spends a lot of time playing in the ball pit and shooting baskets. We think Santa may bring a basket ball hoop this year:)!

FHE at the Pumpkin Patch!

We went to the pumpkin patch for FHE tonight with Grandma & Grandpa Parke. The kids had a great time throwing straw all over us. Jillian is becoming more moody and she had a great time on the pony ride and the next minute pouted because we said we were out of money for the bouncy house. She suggested asking other people for money:). Thanks for taking us Gma & Gpa.

Preschool Crafts

Jillian made some fun things at preschool. A drum for the letter D and an elephant for E week. Carter loves to play with all the things she brings home. They were really funny chasing each other around the house with the elephant mask. Carter really loves the drum though.

Haunted Houses

We had some Halloween fun!! The kids got to frost and decorate haunted houses. They had a good time and didn't even start eating all the candy until the end. Jillian did lick her knife between frosting's.

Reason #2 why Jillian should never become a hair dresser

So Jillian & Carter were in the bath tonight and I was getting out their PJ's. Jillian calls to me that there is hair in the bathtub. Thinking she is making a big deal of one strand of hair I told her that is just what happens when we wash our hair. Then I hear her say something about the razor. That put me in motion. I ran in to find Carter holding my razor with a big bald spot on his head. Jillian told me she did it so apparently she had passed it on to Carter for him to have a turn with the fun. BIG TURKEY'S!

Dedicated to Paige

I would like to dedicate this post to Paige. I hear it is snowing in Idaho and I just thought you might want to see what we are up to. Clearly it is not feeling like winter down here yet. We have a few cold days then go right back up to 80-90 degrees. Hope you have fun walking to class in the snow and bundling up. We are thinking about you:).

Play dough Fun

Jillian & Carter had a lot of fun with play dough the other day. Jillian has started getting really creative and made a whole play dough scene.

On the far left of her scene is a Christmas tree. Next to the tree is Grandma Parke in the hat with two little gingerbread men on her lap, Jillian & Carter. Then we have Grandpa Parke (looking a little smashed) with Tennyson & baby Asher (our cousins) on his lap. It was really cute until Jillian came over to the computer to look at pictures of her new baby cousin, which she thought were adorable. By the time she returned to her play dough family it was unrecognizeable. I guess that is what happens when you leave it alone with Carter. Jill was not very happy with him.

Ballet Saturday

Jillian is taking a ballet class on Saturdays with one of her friends. She looks very cute in her ballet gear. She has really improved in the last 3 weeks. It is amazing how fast they pick things up. Thank goodness too cause I was really thinking ballet was not her thing the first day. She tends to get a little distracted sometimes and doesn't watch the teacher. We are working on that.

Showing us one of her moves!

Never to be left out of anything, here is Carter showing off some of his great ballet moves too!

Goofing off before class. I told Jill to put her arms around Carter who wasn't happy with that at all, but then he threw his arms around her. I guess he would rather be the hugger than the huggie.
