Long Beach Aquarium

A few weeks ago we went to the aquarium on Christian's day off. The kids always have a great time there. It is a really fun place to go.

Enjoying the tanks.

Petting the small sharks and rays. Carter loves to touch them. Jillian used to touch them no problem but she informed us this time that it now "freaks her out" and she doesn't want to touch them anymore. Goof ball!!

They had a children's story time and Jillian got to be one of the puppets in the story. She thought it was great and I am so glad she likes doing things like this. I would have been way to scared and timid to do anything in front of people. I am glad she is more out going. She loves saying prayers and giving talks in primary. Go figure!

Sequoia Trip

We had a really great time on our week long trip to Sequoia with the Parke family. We took my niece Emmy with us and she was good company and great help.

The kids enjoyed climbing rocks, petting the goats and other farm animals, watching movies in bed and getting dirty.

Climbing Moro rock! Jillian and Emmy enjoyed doing this with Christian and I enjoyed not doing it with Carter. Heights are not my thing. In fact I avoid them at all costs.

We also walked through the Red woods and kit trees with sticks (mostly Carter and his cousin Tennyson).

Boyden Cave!

The cave was really neat. It was full of stalactites and stalagmites. One formation we really liked was called the wedding cake, can you pick it out:)? Jillian decided to close her eyes in one picture in order to avoid seeing the dark. The funny thing is the cave had lights and it was much darker with her eyes closed.

We played in the river a couple of days and the kids had the best time throwing rocks in the river while Christian and his brother built a damn with Emmy.

Do you like my hair?

Jillian has a cute new bob.

Which was necessary due to the fact that she cut her hair herself! Luckily it is mostly just underneath so you really cannot tell and the short cut is pretty cute. Still, we had a long talk about how mom and the barber are the only one's who cut our hair!!!!!!

We had a good time! Playing with our cousins.

Sword fighting.

Eating lots of ice pops.

Jumping off the couch.

And crying because it wasn't our turn on the swing anymore.

Travelers

My sister Kaylee called me on a Thursday and suggested a sisters reunion at her home in North Carolina starting the following Sunday. Well, all the sisters rearranged schedules and we bought our tickets on Friday, Drove to Las Vegas on Saturday (since fairs were much cheaper from there and my sister Shaleen was there anyway) and flew out to North Carolina Sunday night. Let's just say that 4 kids to 3 adults is not the best odds especially when one is 8 weeks pregnant and nauseated. Yes we are expecting out 3rd baby in March! All in all, the children were really great considering the two flights and layovers both ways. They all slept on most of the flights and we entertained them with movies during layovers. We finally made it to North Carolina and had lots of fun together as sisters.

Jill & Her Friend

Jillian found this little lizard the other day and she loved him. She carried him around and even put him on her nose. He was really cute since he was nice and small. He seemed to like her too, when she tried to but him back on the leaves he cling to her hand. It took a little while to get him to go onto the plant. She loves all kinds of critters, snakes, tarantulas, lizards. She is a nature girl who is not afraid of bugs and other gross things!
