And so it begins!!!

Kindergarten here we come!!!

The having kids in school years have officially begun. Jillian started Kindergarten yesterday. She had a special breakfast that she chose. Eggo waffles with strawberries, raspberries & powdered sugar. Her school experience will be different from mine, she has year round school and uniforms. That is why her outfit is so plain. Things were crazy and confusing at school but we got her to the right place. She was just fine and did a great job telling Carter & I goodbye. I am happy to say I also did a great job & didn't cry at all. The PTA put on a Boo-hoo breakfast for parents in the cafateria. It was a cute idea and there definitely were some parent tears.
She is in morning Kindergarten so her day is from 9-11:40. When Carter & I picked her up she was happy and said she had a good day. She showed us things she learned like soda pop & silent cheer & the symbole for quiet, plus when the teacher says all eyes on me you look at her and say all eyes on you:). It was pretty cute. Jillian requested a special first day of school dinner and guess what it was! Broccoli soup!!! Yep, my kids love it.
Everything was great until she woke up this morning and announced she didn't want to go to school today. I told her I was sorry but it isn't a choice, and she has to go every day. That led to tears and nerves. She was pretty concerned this morning which broke my heart. It didn't help that Carter decided to throw a 20 min screaming tantrum. But we managed to get in the car, get to school & not have any more tears. I promised Jill we would stay until she walked into her room. Carter kept yelling out "Bye Jilly." Hopefully she will adjust quickly and not be so worried tomorrow. The second day seemed to be harder for a lot of kids.

My little Jilly is getting so BIG!!! I am so proud of her, oh, and you too Jamie for not crying. I'm pretty sure when Tennyson starts pre-school in two weeks, I'll be a basket case! That's interesting that she had a rough second day. If anything I would have thought the first day would have been the hardest. Hmmm, that's kids for ya! Jilly adapts so well to everything that I am sure she will be just fine by the end of the week if not sooner. We sure miss you guys. Can't wait to see you at Christmas. Geez, that's kind of far away when you think about it. Love you guys!

I am not looking forward to kindergarten! Right now I can't wait for them to grow up, but when it happens, I'll want my babies back! She looks so cute in her big backpack! Good luck!

That is so crazy! I still remember some of kindergarten. I will freak when Gwenie goes I bet it was really weird for you too. Jilly looks so cute though and I know she will love it (didn't we all at that age?).

She looks so cute with her backpack. I can't believe she is in kindergarten. What is it with kids not wanting to go to school. I always tell Sydney that if she stays home, we are going to run errands and go grocery shopping...and apparently that solves everything. She always says, "no, I would much rather go to school" :)
