We just returned from a wonderful vacation back east. We flew to Boston on August 8th. It was an all day trip. We got to the Vegas airport at 9am & arrived in Boston @ 9pm, with a lay over in Chicago where we ate dinner. The kids did very well on the flights which was a big relief. Christian's brother Conan picked us up & took us to their house. The kids were asleep but cousin Tennyson woke up for a brief appearance to play with the kids before going back to sleep.
The next morning was spent at Target getting all the things I purposely didn't pack to lighten our load, such as diapers, sunscreen & lots of bug spray. We didn't leave the house without covering everyone in bug spray & sunscreen & went through about 7 cans of each during our trip. I really hate mosquito bites!!!!! We saw many mosquito's but only ended up with about 5 bites total (4 on me of course).
That afternoon Sierra took us to see the Alcott house where Louisa lived when she wrote Little Women. Jill, Christian & I took the tour while Sierra kept the boys so we actually were able to enjoy it. The Alcott family was very similar to the March family in Little Women, with 4 daughters. The youngest daughter May (Amy in the book) was an artist. In her room there were many of her original drawings on the walls & around the windows. That was one neat thing about the house.

Next we went to see the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. This is the burial place of many authors including the Louisa May Alcott & family. The sign in the top left picture has all the names. The children were all very happy to see the money, pencils etc that were left on the graves. They all had pockets full before we could explain to them that those things were not for them to take. There was some disappointment but they put it all back. The cemetery was beautiful. One thing I loved about driving around was seeing all the random cemeteries all over.
Jillian was enjoying the beautiful surrounds a little too much an ended up on her hands & knees. After that she decided she hated cemeteries & complained anytime we went to one.
